i'm a huge fan.

Of classes at Archiver's. This morning I made 5 valentines for the low, low price of $15. That's pretty on-par with a Hallmark card, but my cards are cuter, and I had 2 hours of fun making them!

Up next, Watercolor Whimsy. Try an Archiver's class!

utah bucket list.

My husband and I are always saying we won't be in UT forever...but while we're here, we're cooking up a list of things to see and do.

Things we've already done:
Things we have yet to do:
  • Camping at Arches
  • See Antelope Island
  • Hit up local restaurants (Provo/Orem, PC, and SLC...the list is too long!)
  • Stay the night in PC and explore
  • Go to a rodeo
If you have more ideas to add to our list, leave me a comment. I know there's more out there!

sundance '09: food, friends, & films.

We ventured up to PC on Friday night for some celeb spotting at the Sundance Film Festival. Although we didn't see anyone famous, we did enjoy some flavorful cuisine at Good Kharma, and we caught the premiere of 'Earth Days.'

the 'tinkerer.'

My husband's father was quite the 'tinkerer' (as my husband called him). He loved making notes and lists, and was especially good at drawing diagrams. Here's a cool drawing we found among some of his things when we were at home over the new year.

My SIL wanted a guestbook for her wedding with pictures in it. Here's what I came up with.

music to my ears.

I love this image by Robert Doisneau. It's always been one of my favorites. I have a great excuse to post it, because the Utah Valley Symphony has another concert series next week on Wednesday 1/21 and Thursday 1/22. Please come!

On the program:
Tallis Fantasia by Vaughn Williams
Symphony No. 5 (THE SYMPHONY) by Beethoven
Brandenburg Concerto No. 4 by Bach

Tickets are $12, $10 for students. And the best kept secret of all, student rush tickets (10 minutes before the performance begins) are only $5!

You can purchase your tickets at the door, or call ahead at (801) 852-7007.

shadow.

The lovely and talented k of Shine Photography allowed me to tag along to her photo shoot last week to pick up some new tricks. Here are some images I captured between her shots.

I just ordered some cards from this sweet Etsy shop to write my holiday thank yous. She's from Minneapolis to boot. Love her stuff!
