hole in the wall.

I prefer to explore uncharted territory when it comes to restaurants. My favorites always end up being the obscure places you only learn of through word of mouth. Provo/Orem is no beacon of cultural delight, but we have discovered (with a little help from our friends) several restaurants that are diamonds in the rough. We prefer these places both for their food AND their atmosphere. Bon appetit!

Here they are, in no particular order:

1. Gloria's Little Italy
279 E 300 S Provo, UT 84606
801.805.4913

2. Ultimate Broiler and Grill
294 N State St, Orem, UT 84057
801.221.2606

3. Nicolitalia's
2295 N University Pkwy Provo, UT 84604
801.356.7900

4. Guru's
45 E Center Street Provo, UT 84606
801.375.4878

5. Sundance Foundry Grill
866.932.2295

*I'll be adding to this list as we discover more. If you have any recommendations, please comment!

glad to see your recommendations. we've been to some, but not all of those. although, i don't know that i'd consider guru's to be hole-in-the-wall since it's a chain! but definitely very indie-cool.

I have one for you to try if you like burgers and fries (the fries are AMAZING). They also have good shakes - it's called Rocky Mountain Drive Inn - just go down State Street into Provo, just south of Center Street. It looks like a dive, but the food is really good. :)
