flashback.

A scent floated by me today that smelled something like this. I think this is one of the best smells in the world-it reminds me of my childhood. In fact, I'm temped to buy some for myself!

beef. it's what's for dinner.

And breakfast. And lunch. And a midnight snack.

I am the *lucky* receipient of not one, but 2 (!) boxes of authentic Portillo's Italian beef. I have my wonderful boss to thank, who is also from Chicago, and can understand how homesick my tummy gets.

Now...who's going to help me eat it!?

**If you're not sure what 'italian beef' is, it's a hybrid of a philly cheese steak and a french dip...but SOOOOO much better!

april showers.

Even the April showers couldn't stop this photo shoot. We tried out the library and the light was beautiful.

requiem.

For the final concert of our 2008-2009 season, the Utah Valley Symphony will be performing the entire Brahms Requiem. We have a choir that will be singing with us (in German), and they sound amazing! If you'd like a comp ticket, please comment on this post.

This one was a doll to work with! She just wanted to be held. And she loved to wiggle her little toes.

a rainy saturday at the library.

Since it rained on Saturday, we weren't able to shoot outside, so we went down to the library and explored. The older part of the building has some beautiful textures and great window light. I'll have more of this fun couple later in the week.

platoon party.

I photographed a military retirement party with Shine last weekend at Camp Williams. I haven't had much exposure to the military, but this event was rich in tradition and ceremony. The space was cozy and filled with military artifacts.

leif flowers.

I found this beautiful arrangement at work the other day. The florist is a 'budding' entrepreneur who had dropped some samples off at our office. They're full of vibrant colors, unique flowers, and vintage textures.

Does she have beautiful blue eyes? She was a guest at one of the weddings I photographed recently. I love her sassy hair too!

lucky.

My sweet husband surprised me with these over the weekend. I'm not a 'roses' girl, so he goes to the flower shop and chooses the most random flowers he can find. I'm a lucky one!

I also shot a military retirement party on Saturday at Camp Williams. It was quite an event. I'll post images later this week.

johnnie beefs: a taste of home.

A work associate just clued me in to Johnnie Beefs in SLC. Being from Chicago, I'm a hotdog snob (if there is such a thing). I tried it out on Saturday and it was delish. Totally authentic, right down to Jonnie, who served us our dogs. Apparently it's the local hometown hangout-I met another frequent customer there who grew up miles from me!
