what have i been up to?

So you've likely noticed the lack of fresh images on my blog. This is due to:

• Cooking adventures, including 'Ribollita' from 101 Cookbooks and my new Simple Swaps book
• Sewing creations, including the pillow making class I took at JoAnn Fabrics, and the purse I constructed with the help of my sissy
• It's cold outside!

It's just too cold and blah outside for portraits right now, but I'm working on a few different projects that I hope to share soon. In the meantime, you'll have to put up with my dabbling.

I picked up this pattern from Etsy before the holidays, in anticipation of my sister's week-long visit. You see, she's Martha Stewart when it comes to sewing (and cooking) and I needed some help with my new Brother.

I LOVE the holidays because I get so many of these lovelies in my mailbox :) I check the mail like it's my JOB. Here's one I made for some sweet friends of ours.

it's december 1st...

Are your holiday cards ready? If you're looking for a fresh (read: not canned design from *you know where*), let me design a one-of-a-kind holiday card for you! Here's one I did last year. I've already finished some new ones this year...but I can't spoil the surprise for my clients!

I also design baby announcements, graduation announcements, engagement collages, custom albums, logos, and business cards.

a project completed.

I've been looking for a magnetic bulletin board, but just haven't found one that fit my lofty expectations. So I decided to make one.


Materials:

• pre-cut frame that was 50% off (craft store)
  
• magnetic metal sheet for $13.99 (hardware store)
• magnets husby gave me last Christmas
  

The hardware store cut the metal sheet to fit in my frame (22x28), and the craft store kindly stapled the metal into the frame, and reinforced the backing with some foam board. They also added a wire so I could hang it.

seeing the everyday.

While unpacking boxes, I ran across this beautiful magazine. It's simple, but definitely speaks to me as one who appreciates the little things in life. Seeing the Everyday pays tribute to the uniqueness in daily life, with well composed photography, sweet stories, and lovely text & layout.

I admit, I've been a slacky blogger. Between the full time job (being acquired by Adobe) and averaging 3 sessions a week while flying back and forth every two weeks to see husby, blogging has been at the bottom of the list. Instead, I've been working on...

• editing pictures
• studying my family tree (including pictures!). see some fun ones here.
• updating my website

announcement.

I took the photos for this adorable announcement (see here). Friend Natalie did a beautiful job designing these baby announcements! Don't mind the whacked out color (what is UP with blogger!?). They're kind of a pastel/dirty blue and taupe in real life.

My SIL wanted a guestbook for her wedding with pictures in it. Here's what I came up with.
