guiltless pleasure.

Look what I found! And I don't even like Chex Mix. But this is DARK CHOCOLATE Chex Mix. It's so delicious, and cures my sweet tooth with just one little handful!

jantzen II.

Their 100th birthday was yesterday, and I'll say, they're looking pretty good! I la la love their fresh logo & branding. It's so retro, yet hip. Which is your favorite!?

this makes me smile.

I need to take more pictures like this.

Borrowed from the FB page of my MPLS yoga instructor. If you do yoga and live in MPLS-she is fabulous.

What makes you smile?

rode-o.

I'm not so into rodeo culture, but a tiny, tiny piece of me imagines what life is like in a traveling rodeo. Like running off to join the circus.

We went to the SF rodeo on Wednesday (2nd rodeo EVER) and had a great time people watching and animal watching. Loved the 'lil cowboy sitting behind us. There was no shortage of hats & boots, princesses' sparkling tops, tight jeans & vests. Got to love rodeo fashion.

farmer's market friday: handmade books.

Bookmaking pretty much tops the list of one of the crafts I'd like to learn (along with mosaic and crocheting). Besides having beautiful handmade books, this artist offers classes, so you can make your own handmade journal from materials ranging from cereal boxes to scrabble boards to fabric. Her patterns and prints are vibrant and unique. Stop by her stand, or better yet, take her class and make a book that is exactly to your liking.

farmer's market friday: yellow momma creations.

I fell in love with Yellow Momma Creations at the farmer's market last week. Her yarn dollies are so sweet and soft. Her greatest advertiser (her daughter) was playing with her OWN yarn dolly, which had been loved and worn. It reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit. If you've got a little girl, niece, grand-daughter, or baby-shower, this is the perfect gift! You can customize the skin tone, hair, clothing, and even choose between curly or straight yarn hair.

tandem.

As part of said birthday celebration, husby rented a tandem bike, and we explored all of P-town. It took 3 hours. We found bugs, cows, horses, and boats.

snake creek grill.

For an early birthday celebration on Saturday, husby took me to Snake Creek Grill, a yummy restaurant in H-town that we've never been to, but comes highly recommended. The food was delicious, right down to the strawberry raspberry rhubarb pie a la mode, served straight from the oven.

Disclaimer: Actual pie not pictured...I didn't have the camera handy! This is as close as I could get. But it was SOOOOO much better.

We had a $25-off coupon to SCG from restaurant.com which was even sweeter! Browse for local restaurant deals in your neighborhood!

love these.

My sweet husband bought me a surprise yesterday. I came home to notes all over the house, that led me to the fridge where a cold pack of these were waiting for me after a long day at work.

Can you guess what they are without looking? My favorite flavor is Pomegranite. What's yours?

garrison keillor.

One of my favorite things to do on Saturday nights is to listen to Garrison Keillor on NPR. Who, you ask, is Garrision Keillor?

If you listen to NPR, and especially Minnesota Public Radio, you might know Garrison Keillor as the "man with the red shoes." His variety shows consist of story telling, folk songs, jokes, the "news from Lake Woebegon," and vintage style commercials. I think of it as the radio version of Saturday Night live with drier humor and more entertainment. I especially love it because of his references to Minnesota. His radio show, Prairie Home Companion, is one of the longest running radio shows of all time, and his broadcasts are done from the Fitzgerald Theatre in St. Paul, MN, but he also does tours all over the country.

Check out this clip of his "news from Lake Woebegon." Watch for the red shoes!

go green.

For Christmas my lil sis gave me some reusable grocery bags. They're GINORMOUS and hold tons of food. Plus, they're sturdy and I can throw them over my shoulder. Not only do reusable bags save the earth, but most groceries will give you a teeny discount for using them. You can find them at almost any grocery or market, but if you're looking for some sassy totes, try...Etsy!

inkspot workshop.

I'd rather buy cards on Etsy because A) they are usually cheaper than at the store (even with shipping) and B) they are unique!

Meet InkspotWorkshop, one of my favorite card shops on Etsy.

archipelago.

I ran out of my signature scent and was on the prowl for something new. I bought this delicious fragrance over the weekend from here.

nuts.

For these. Anytime I see them I have to buy them for my husband, who is addicted. I scored them at a basketball game over the weekend. They're especially good when they're still warm. Yum! Does anyone have a recipe for making these at home? They're hard to find!

If you haven't seen this classic film yet this year (or EVER), it's a must watch. Merry Christmas!

poppies.

Poppies are the new tulip. I simply love poppies. Maybe it's because they are red. Or because they're in the Wizard of Oz. Whatever it is. I love poppies.

Find them here.

chipotle.

My husband brought one home for me last night, imported from Sandy. Delicious.
It brought me right back to life on Grand Ave. There is no comparison.
