So, you've noticed... I stopped blogging! There are many reasons for this. In a nutshell I had other priorities including training for a half marathon, applying to graduate school and studying for the GMAT, and some extra travel for work (and play).

Although I haven't been posting, I actually have been taking pictures. I just wrapped up some fabulous trips to LA, MN, MI, and SF that I am really looking forward to sharing. I also did some portraits of a brand new babe and of my very own extended family.

To get back into the swing of things, here are some lovely peonies that I purchased at the farmer's market for a whopping deal of $5.

Sorry for so much emphasis on moving lately...can you tell I'm excited?! When we were in Indy a few weeks ago, we checked out the local Broad Ripple Farmer's Market. They had beautiful fresh flowers, soy candles, honey sticks, fresh handmade pasta, art, and vegetables galore! Even though it was raining there was a good turnout.

This isn't just any floral booth...it's ART! M&K Designs creates simple, clean, and vibrant floral arrangements for gifts, or just any occasion. They sent me home with a cute daisy bouquet that's still kickin' it on my counter. I'm not sure what kind of superfood they gave me, but these flowers are fresh, and they're made to last. If you've got a wedding coming up, give these guys a call. The hydrangeas alone are to die for.

Today is also LLAMA-FEST! This is better than Christmas. Don't be surprised if you see images of goofy looking llamas on the blog later this week.

farmer's market friday: FuLL giVe

FuLL giVe was a rookie at the FM last week. This guy works for himself creating sweet graffiti designs all day on belts, cuffs, and any other kind of leather crafts you can think of. His booth was home-made from recycled materials, and he loved chatting up his curious customers. He is seriously talented. I know I'll be stopping by his etsy shop for some gifts!

I've been out of town, so tomorrow is my first Farmer's Market in a MONTH. I'll collect some more goodies for my Friday features. Personally, I'm hoping for some CORN on the COB.

Bookmaking pretty much tops the list of one of the crafts I'd like to learn (along with mosaic and crocheting). Besides having beautiful handmade books, this artist offers classes, so you can make your own handmade journal from materials ranging from cereal boxes to scrabble boards to fabric. Her patterns and prints are vibrant and unique. Stop by her stand, or better yet, take her class and make a book that is exactly to your liking.

I fell in love with Yellow Momma Creations at the farmer's market last week. Her yarn dollies are so sweet and soft. Her greatest advertiser (her daughter) was playing with her OWN yarn dolly, which had been loved and worn. It reminds me of the Velveteen Rabbit. If you've got a little girl, niece, grand-daughter, or baby-shower, this is the perfect gift! You can customize the skin tone, hair, clothing, and even choose between curly or straight yarn hair.

N's boutique is a must see at the farmer's market! Her displays are vibrant with color, and she sells these flower clips in all shapes and sizes. You can clip them to your shirt, a bag, a headband, or straight in your hair. She also makes beautiful jewelry.

Me: [takes 1st bite of delicious brat covered in mustard and sauerkraut]
Brat: SLOP! All over jeans.
Me: "SERIOUSLY!? Can you please get me a napkin?"
Husband: [exits to find napkin]...[husband returns and hands over napkin]
Me: [proceed to wipe leg]
Husband: "WAIT!!!!!!!!!! You have to take a picture of it first."

Good thing husby looks out for my readers...

farmers market II.

Today I explored the farmer's market with my friend, Alli. We both brought our cameras and enjoyed taking pictures of the patrons and merchants. Some of the highlights included fresh bread from Flours Girls and Dough Boys, kittens, used books, and all the neat people there. Here are some photos I took.

As it turns out, I have been very busy. We've been hitting the Parade of Homes pretty hard these last two weeks, and in the month of May we traveled to Vegas, Iowa, and Chicago. We also managed to plant a garden, and clean out our storage. You better believe I found some hidden treasures! Today I also visited the very first Provo Farmer's Market of the season. Below is a picture of a cute kiddo I saw at the Farmer's Market! I also came home with 2 tomato plants and some chives.


Amongst all those things, I took a Photoshop class to brush up on some things, and am currently taking a photo class to get back to the basics and shake things up a little bit. I am enjoying them both and really learning a lot from some experts in the field.

I'm currently testing out the world of stock photos, and I have a few photo shoots lined up.
