"look at you guy."

...says my husband as he walks out the door. Leaf or alive, you ask? Well, it's got legs, and eyes, and it started to move, so we're pretty sure it's not a leaf. What is it?

alpine loop.

We took a leisurely drive up the Alpine Loop this week. Thanks to the convertable top, I had unrestricted photographing capabilities! Most of these were taken in a moving car because there was too much traffic to actually stop.
I'm pretty spoiled because I'm used to mid-western fall colors, but I have to say, this is the most vibrant of the three fall seasons I have endured here.

something green.

You thought I would say blue. Right? In the spirit of spring, I'm posting some green. These actually aren't real, growing flowers in the ground, they are some flowers I was given in a vase, but they were a lot more interesting (and colorful) than the ones I saw at the park. I'm not one for flowers (I think they can be boring in pictures) but these colors and shapes were just too vibrant to pass up.

something old.

I suppose the first statement of every blogger begs the question, "What is the purpose of my postings?" At the suggestion of a friend, I've started this blog to showcase some of my photography, as well as challenge myself to focus on new assignments and subject matter. While I've primarily been interested in portraiture for the last few years, I'm starting to delve into stock photos and fine art as well. I hope to create a bi-weekly post, and each post will embody a new theme. I don't like to write much, and let's face it, my words aren't that entertaining, so I'll mostly let my images speak for themselves. While critique isn't a word with an overly positive connotation, I'd like to invite readers to constructively criticize my images. I'd like to use your feedback to improve my technique & subject matter.

And so I begin, with something old. A little spring cleaning, if you will, as I say 'out with the old, in with the new.'
